Second Steps
The fourth edition of Second Steps provides a one-stop resource for those wishing to make a career in applied arts. This edition is in full colour, with a user friendly layout, making good use of space.
Although it was published in 2006 and some of the contact details are now out of date; the content continues to be very useful.
The pocket sized book is illustrated with case studies by craft makers, tutors, gallery owners, a professional photographer and an agent. It provides an invaluable source of contacts and information, in a jargon free, easy to follow style. Second Steps has continued to sell steadily, since the first edition in 1998, and has proved to be a success with tutors (many now add it to their reading lists) graduates and new makers (from whatever direction they have arrived), who need guidance in setting up a craft related business and/or workshop.
